Prajapati criticized the previous governments led by NC, Congress, and PDP, stating that they looted the rights of the OBC category by providing only 2% reservation to a large population. He lauded the Modi government for introducing the ‘J&K Reservation Bill 2023’ to provide due reservation to OBCs, replacing the Weak and Under Privileged Classes (Social Caste)/OSC through the J&K Reservation (Amendment) Bill passed by both houses of Parliament.

He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and Home Minister for this historical decision, addressing a three-decade-long demand of the OBCs in J&K. Prajapati highlighted that the earlier governments in J&K neglected the demands of OBCs and allocated a significant share of OBC reservation to non-OBC communities.

Prajapati emphasized that with the abrogation of Article 370 and the implementation of the Reorganization Act, OBCs in J&K have gained benefits, including the ability to participate in elections for Municipalities and Panchayats under Constitutional provisions.

He appealed to the Union government and the Lieutenant Governor to withhold unadvertised and unfilled vacancies in J&K UT and readvertise them once the J&K Reservation Act 2023, duly amended, is implemented, replacing the nomenclature OSC with OBC category. Prajapati believes this step will ensure justice and the due share of reservation for OBC categories according to Constitutional provisions.
