In a series of raids, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) targeted locations across Jammu & Kashmir, unveiling a terror conspiracy orchestrated by banned groups like LeT, JeM, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, Al-Badr, and Al-Qaeda. The raids focused on residential premises of hybrid terrorists and Overground Workers (OGWs) associated with newly-formed affiliates such as TRF, ULFJ&K, MGH, JKFF, Kashmir Tigers, PAAF, among others.
The NIA seized digital devices containing substantial incriminating data, pointing towards a conspiracy to destabilize J&K through violent attacks. The investigation, initiated on June 21, 2022, (RC-05/2022/NIA/JMU), delves into the involvement of these outfits in the distribution of sticky bombs, IEDs, funds, narcotics, and arms/ammunition.
Social media platforms were identified as a tool for promoting terror, while drones were utilized for delivering arms, explosives, and narcotics to operatives in the Kashmir valley. The conspiracy extended to radicalizing local youth and mobilizing OGWs for violent and disruptive activities in J&K, with Pakistani operatives backing these activities.
