Puducherry, Aug 12 (BuzzBytes): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday called on the country’s young generation to dedicate itself to the nation in order to make India a great power, saying there is no longer a need to die for the country because it is free, but that nobody can stop anyone from living for it.
Speaking after flagging off a Tiranga Yatra in Puducherry, the Home Minister appealed to young people to devote the 25 years of the Azadi Ka Amrit Kaal to Bharat Mata in order to make India a great nation.
“We do not need to die for the country now because we are free. But nobody can stop us from living for our country,” Shah said on the occasion.
The Union Minister said that if each of the one crore families of Gujarat hoisted the Tricolour at their homes, the entire state and the country would be steeped in the colours of the national flag.
Shah said the Prime Minister has appealed to the people to observe the 25 years from 2022 to August 15, 2047 as the Azadi Ka Amrit Kaal and to use the period to make the country great and number one in every sphere. He said this Amrit Kaal carries particular significance for the younger generation.
Recalling the freedom movement, the Home Minister said that just as the youth of that era led the country’s struggle for independence over ninety years and freed it from the yoke of colonial rule, today’s young generation must dedicate the twenty five years up to 2047 to Bharat Mata and make India great.
He said that as a result of the ninety year long freedom struggle between 1857 and 1947, India, the mother of democracy, is making its way as the largest democracy in the world.
