BuzzBytes Langate, 26 Nov:J&K National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah addressed a workers’ convention in Langate, raising concerns about the BJP’s reluctance to hold elections in the region despite claims of normalcy and development.Omar contested the government’s assertions on development and normalcy, stating that the ground reality contradicts the promises made post the abrogation of Article 370. He emphasized the need to address people’s feelings and problems, criticizing the government’s propaganda surrounding Article 370.”The whole world was told that Article 370 is a barrier to employment in Jammu and Kashmir, the root of bribery and corruption. But it has been more than four years since the Article was abrogated. What has changed? If BJP has done development for J&K then why run from elections?” questioned Omar.He highlighted the challenges faced by the people, including water scarcity, erratic power supply, and unemployment. Omar criticized the government’s failure to deliver on promises, pointing out unscheduled power cuts and the administration’s approach to electric supply issues.In a dig at BJP’s local supporters, Omar urged them to focus on the plight of Kashmiris in UP and address the issues faced by Muslims. He questioned their silence on various matters and called for action on improving the electricity system in Kashmir.The convention saw the participation of prominent leaders, including Ali Muhammad Sagar, Nasir Aslam Wani, and Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, addressing the gathering. State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, Women’s Wing Provincial President Sabia Qadri, and youth leaders were also present.Hanif Khan reporting.
