Bandipora: Bandipora Police arrested three drug peddlers from different areas of the district and recovered a significant quantity of contraband and psychotropic substances from their possession.
During a naka checking at Papachan Bridge, officials from PS Bandipora apprehended a drug peddler and recovered 47 bottles of Codeine Phosphate from his possession. He has been identified as Irshad Ahmad Wani, son of Habibullah Wani, resident of Hajin. Accordingly, a case under the NDPS Act has been registered at PS Bandipora.
In a separate incident during naka checking at Shokbaba Sumlar, another drug peddler was arrested, and 40 grams of a Charas-like substance were recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Abdul Rashid Sheikh, son of Sonullah Sheikh, resident of Arin. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered at PS Bandipora.
Meanwhile, during naka checking at Check Chandergeer, a Maruti Alto car bearing registration number JK15C-0747 was stopped for inspection. Upon searching the vehicle, 98 bottles of Codeine Phosphate were recovered. The driver was identified as Mohammad Aqib Wani, son of Ghulam Mohammad Wani, resident of Hajin. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered at PS Hajin, and the vehicle involved in the crime has been seized.
