Political Commentary on Current Scenario in J&K

Srinagar, February 3, 2024Tanvir Sadiq, Chief Spokesperson of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, addressed the current scenario in the region, stating that democracy is being undermined at every stage. During a workers’ meeting at the party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha in Srinagar, Sadiq criticized the government for portraying its failures in job creation, development, and social welfare as successes. The meeting, held at Zadibal constituency, also saw the establishment of a new party block named Dargah, Mir Behri Rainawari, with Mohammad Rafiq Khan elected as the Block President.Highlighting the failures of the current bureaucratic government, including economic challenges, weather-related mishandling, and inadequate civic facilities, Sadiq emphasized the need for a comprehensive evaluation of the past 10 years. He urged party functionaries to unite and respond to the government’s shortcomings on grassroots issues, making social justice, unemployment, and development deficits central to national discussions
