In a strategic move ahead of parliamentary elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled for a second visit to the Union Territory in over two weeks. His anticipated visit to Srinagar on March 7 is marked by plans to address a public meeting, inaugurate key development projects, and connect with beneficiaries of centrally sponsored schemes virtually.

This visit holds significance as it marks the Prime Minister’s first appearance in the Kashmir Valley since the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019. The public rally is expected to take place at the convention center along Dal Lake, with the Prime Minister’s address streamed live in various locations, notably in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

The outreach to Srinagar follows Modi’s recent visit to Jammu on February 20, where he launched development projects worth over Rs 32,000 crore. This proactive engagement is part of the Prime Minister’s broader outreach program in the lead-up to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled for April-May.

In a recent public rally in Yavatmal district, Modi expressed confidence in the ruling BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), predicting a crossing of the 400-seat mark in the upcoming polls. He emphasized that the next five years would witness rapid development across the nation.

As the political landscape unfolds, Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Kashmir signifies a pivotal moment in the region’s political dynamics, promising both developmental milestones and political strategies in the weeks to come.
