Buzzbytes Jammu, December 22, 2023- The Department of Archives, Archaeology, and Museums in Jammu made a significant discovery by recovering rare ancient sculptures in the Bhour Camp area. A team led by Assistant Director Archaeology, Dr. Sangeeta Sharma, visited the site and took possession of these sculptures dating back to the 12th century A.D.
The preliminary findings reveal that the sculptures depict the human form of Goddess Indrani and Lord Shiva. These rare artifacts, weighing around 55 kg and 40 kg, respectively, are believed to be invaluable pieces of cultural heritage.
The department is now gearing up for the preservation process to ensure the longevity and cultural significance of these sculptures.
