District Mobile Magistrate, Mohd Ishtiyaq Aalam, in collaboration with DYSP Traffic Pulwama-Shopian, Dr. Mudasser Tramboo, orchestrated a targeted operation at the Awantipora toll plaza on NH44. The campaign resulted in the issuance of more than a hundred challans to traffic violators, addressing a spectrum of offenses under the Motor Vehicles Act.

Challans were administered for a range of violations, including over height/length by commercial vehicles, absence of insurance, lack of fitness certification, excess passengers, missing High-Security Registration Plate (HSRP), triple riding, riding without a helmet, dangerous driving, and overloading.

Mobile Magistrate Anantnag, alongside the concerned DSP, actively engaged in on-the-spot counseling of drivers and commuters. Emphasizing the importance of regular traffic awareness programs, they underscored the pivotal role such interventions play in averting roadside accidents and safeguarding lives. The magistrate also visited the site of a recent fatal accident, advocating for the swift rectification of identified black spots.

Given the recent spike in fatal accidents, authorities have intensified efforts against traffic violators, implementing measures such as blacklisting of vehicles and the cancellation of RC/DL. Stay tuned for updates as initiatives are undertaken to enhance road safety and curb traffic offenses.
