2047, Sri Pratap College actively participated in a capacity-building tour for their students.
Maj Gen PBS Lamba, GOC HQ 31 Sub Area organized the elaborative event at Badami Bagh Cantonment.
44 Students and 4 faculty members under the patronage of the Principal of the college enthusiastically participated in the tour. The tour started-off from the College to the B. B. Cantt with the prime objective of exposing the participants to the new horizons of the Indian security establishment so as to channelize their mindset towards ideating on Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
After a warm welcome by the army officials, the students were taken to the auditorium of the Chinar Corps Headquarters and were given a lucid and concise presentation on the insight into what the Indian army is about, the prospective career with the Indian army and how the students can apply for the various positions in the army professional sphere.
The presentation struck a chord with the students who were exposed to the rich ethos of the Indian Army. The interactive session of students with the distinguished Maj Gen PBS Lamba, GOC HQ 31 Sub Area was very astounding and incredible.
Principal of the College, Prof (Dr) Ghulam Jeelani Qureshi also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the officials for organizing the tour and remarked on the outstanding performance of the college in the academic landscape.
After the presentation, the weapon display activity was arranged for the students who were enthralled by it. The students were also taken to the museum, “Ibadat-e-Shahadat” located at army’s 15 Corps at Badami Bagh. It is a heritage building erected by erstwhile ruler Maharaja Hari Singh in 1924. The students were fascinated by the museum highlighting Kashmiri culture, history, heritage and the sacrifices of the people for the motherland.
Dr. Javaid Hassan, NSS PO Coordinated the event from the college. The students were elated by the visit to B. B. Cantonment and appreciated the efforts of the Indian army for facilitating the elaborate tour and requested the authorities to plan more such activities in future.
