Jammu, February 21: Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare, Sheetal Nanda, unveiled a set of initiatives dedicated to empowering the Pahari Speaking community in Jammu and Kashmir. The initiatives include a carefully crafted calendar and brochure highlighting the rich heritage and vibrant culture of Pahari Speaking people.In addition, Nanda released a Geo-locational map that identifies all Pahari hostels across the Union Territory, providing valuable insights into the distribution and accessibility of hostel facilities for Pahari students and residents.The event was attended by Secretary in Social Welfare Department, Rachna Sharma; Director Finance Social Welfare Department, Anil Kumar Dogra; Secretary J&K Advisory Board for Development of Pahari Speaking People, Sapna Kotwal, and Additional Secretary SWD, Kamlesh, along with other officers and officials.Sheetal Nanda emphasized the significance of these initiatives in fostering unity, diversity, and inclusive development within the J&K UT. She stated that recognizing and celebrating unique cultural identities is crucial for building a more equitable and harmonious society.The Commissioner Secretary highlighted that the unveiling of the calendar, brochure, and Geo-locational map represents a significant step forward in the ongoing journey towards empowerment and inclusivity for the Pahari Speaking community in the UT.Sapna Kotwal expressed gratitude to Commissioner Secretary Sheetal Nanda for her guidance and support in the welfare and development of the Pahari Speaking people during the event.
