Ganderbal, February 3, 2024In a significant move towards workforce empowerment, Deputy Commissioner Shyambir inaugurated a skill training program in carpentry trade at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Ganderbal. This initiative, operating under the prestigious PM Vishwakarma scheme, aims to provide valuable vocational skills to enhance the capabilities of individuals in the carpentry trade.The program, set to deliver 5 days of Basic Skill Training for the initial batch of 30 trainees, marks the beginning of a commendable effort to equip individuals with practical skills in carpentry.During the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Shyambir emphasized the collaborative efforts of different departments in implementing the PM Vishwakarma scheme in Ganderbal. He highlighted the scheme’s potential to empower artisans with innovative skills, enabling them to earn a livelihood and contribute to the economic growth of the district.Addressing the trainees, Shyambir encouraged them to make the most of the facilities at ITI Ganderbal during their skill training, emphasizing the importance of acquiring practical expertise in carpentry.General Manager DIC Ganderbal, Zahid Ahmad Khan, elaborated on the scheme’s various benefits, emphasizing its positive impact on society, particularly on the Traditional Craftsman community.The PM Vishwakarma Scheme is designed not only to enhance individual careers but also to contribute to the overall development of the country.
