State Investigation Agency Seizes 5 Kanals of Property in Sopore from Proclaimed Offender Under Stringent Laws

Sopore, Jan 04: In a significant development, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) announced on Thursday that it had attached a property belonging to a proclaimed offender in the Amarghar area of Sopore, situated in the north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

An official from the agency revealed that the property, consisting of 5 kanals of immovable land, was seized as part of the ongoing investigation into Case FIR No 19/2022 under sections 13, 17, 18, 39, 40 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), along with sections 120-B, 121, 121-A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and sections 8/21, 8/27-B, 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The operation was conducted by the SIA’s Kashmir unit.

The property’s owner was identified as Abdul Rashid Mir, son of Mohammad Sultan Mir of Amargrah. The attachment is a part of the agency’s efforts to curb unlawful activities and ensure strict adherence to legal frameworks in the region. Authorities remain vigilant in their pursuit of justice and maintaining law and order.
