Stop Illegal Construction Now

BB Desk

In Kashmir, places like Pahalgam, Sonamarg, and others are losing their charm because of illegal construction. Everyone knows we need some roads and buildings to make life easier and help tourists visit, but why turn our beautiful hills into a mess of concrete? People don’t come here for fancy rooms—they’ve got that in Delhi and big cities. They come for our green mountains, clean rivers, and the way we live. If we don’t stop this, we’ll lose what makes Kashmir special.

We get it—some development is important. Tourists need places to stay, and locals need jobs. But what’s happening now is too much. Trees are being cut, rivers are getting blocked, and our hills are turning into ugly piles of cement. This isn’t just about nature—it’s about our culture, our home. Tourists love Kashmir for its fresh air, peaceful views, and our simple way of life. If we let illegal buildings take over, what will be left? Just another crowded city nobody wants to visit.

The people in charge need to wake up. They should make tough rules and punish anyone breaking them. Locals should also have a say—no one knows this land better than us. Yes, we need some growth, but it should be smart and green, not reckless and greedy. Our kids deserve to see the real Kashmir, not a concrete jungle.

Kashmir is our pride—its hills, waters, and traditions. Let’s not ruin it for a quick buck. Stop the illegal construction before it’s too late, or we’ll lose the paradise we all love.
