Paris, June 18 (BuzzBytes): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that technology can drive meaningful progress only when it is accessible to all, asserting that for India, Artificial Intelligence (AI) stands for “All Inclusive.”
Addressing the global technology and innovation summit VivaTech 2026 in Paris, Modi highlighted India’s emergence as a leading digital economy and underscored the country’s commitment to using technology for social and economic empowerment.
“Technology can lead to progress only when it is democratised,” the Prime Minister said while addressing innovators, entrepreneurs and technology leaders from across the world.
Showcasing India’s digital achievements, Modi said the country has undergone a remarkable technology-driven transformation over the past decade. He noted that India has built the world’s largest digital identity system and one of the largest digital payment ecosystems, enabling millions of citizens to access services and opportunities.
“From financial inclusion and education to telemedicine and digital governance, technology is helping transform lives at an unprecedented scale,” he said.
The Prime Minister also pointed out that nearly half of the world’s digital transactions are now taking place in India, reflecting the country’s growing strength in the global technology landscape.
Modi’s remarks come amid increasing international debate over access to advanced AI technologies and efforts to ensure equitable participation in the digital future.
VivaTech is regarded as Europe’s premier technology and innovation event, bringing together global leaders, startups, investors and industry experts to explore emerging trends and future technologies.
India has set up the largest national pavilion at this year’s summit, highlighting the country’s innovation ecosystem and strengthening technology partnerships between India and Europe.
The Prime Minister reiterated that India’s approach to technology is rooted in inclusivity, ensuring that innovation serves society at large and contributes to sustainable and equitable development.
