TOLIC Meeting at CSIR-IIIM Reviews Hindi Implementation Progress and Releases Annual Magazine

The Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Jammu, held its second half-yearly meeting for 2023-24 at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu. Chaired by Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, Chairman of TOLIC and Director of CSIR-IIIM, the meeting focused on reviewing the implementation of Hindi in Central Government Offices.

Key attendees included Kishore Kumar, Deputy Director General, National Sample Survey Office; Dr. Sanjay Singh, Assistant Director, Regional Ayurveda Research Institute; Lalit Mohan, Joint Director, Inter-state Police Wireless Centre; Santosh Kumar, Assistant Director, Central Hindi Training Institute; and Rajesh Gupta, Administrative Officer, CSIR-IIIM, Jammu.

Dr. Zabeer Ahmed commended TOLIC’s operational excellence but stressed the need for continuous improvement. He emphasized the importance of adopting Hindi as the working language, citing love for the mother tongue as a driving factor. The Chairman and dignitaries unveiled the 11th Edition of TOLIC, Jammu’s Annual Magazine, ‘Gyanvarta.’

Sanjay Sharma, Member-Secretary, presented the progress on Hindi implementation, with 43 out of 51 member institutions showing excellent performance. The meeting included open discussions, reviewing decisions from the last session, and highlighting the increased social media presence of TOLIC, Jammu, making it the only one of its kind nationwide.

Santosh Kumar advocated for regular nominations of employees to accelerate progress in implementing Hindi in government offices during the open house discussion. Members pledged their support and efforts to promote the use of Hindi in their respective organizations.

Conducting the meeting proceedings, Sanjay Sharma, and Rajesh Gupta, Administrative Officer, CSIR-IIIM, expressed gratitude during the vote of thanks. The meeting concluded with a commitment to further enhance the implementation of Hindi in official capacities.
