In a somber turn of events, three army personnel, including two officers (Captains), sacrificed their lives during an ongoing encounter in the Solki area of Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir. The unfortunate incident unfolded as security forces engaged with two terrorists trapped in the Kalakote area earlier in the day.
The encounter erupted in the Bajimaal area of Dharmsal following a meticulous cordon and search operation conducted by a joint force of the Army and J-K Police. Regrettably, several soldiers sustained injuries during the intense gun battle.
The security forces have identified splinter groups of Jaish in the Gulabgarh forest areas near Bajimal. This particular group, initially spotted on October 5, triggered the initial gun battle that ultimately led to the prolonged encounter.
Expressing condolences, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha conveyed his heartfelt tribute on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Sad news was received that 3 soldiers were martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir. I salute the supreme sacrifice of the brave martyrs. Give place at the feet of Lord Shri. Om Shanti.”
As the nation mourns the loss of these brave soldiers, their sacrifice serves as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by our armed forces in ensuring the safety and security of our borders.
