In a bid to foster international education, the University of Essex in the United Kingdom has unveiled the Academic Excellence International Master’s Scholarship, extending a financial lifeline to Indian students. The scholarship, valued at up to 3000 pounds (Rs 3,13,304), is tailored for self-funding students from tier 2 universities, set to embark on their academic journey in the January 2024 intakes.

Prospective students from these tier 2 institutions are automatically considered for the scholarship when submitting a complete application for relevant courses. The evaluation process hinges on academic transcripts and certificates, with a deadline for submission set on November 30. Notably, applicants boasting a minimum of 60% or a CGPA of 6.5/10 stand eligible for consideration.
The scholarship, designed as a partial tuition fee waiver, aims to ease the financial burden for Indian students pursuing higher education in the UK. To secure this financial aid, candidates are required to furnish a comprehensive statement of purpose, along with academic or work references and valid English language test results.
Established in 1963, the University of Essex stands as a prominent public research institution with campuses in Colchester, Southend, and Loughton. It boasts a global appeal, attracting students from approximately 140 countries. The university’s academic offerings span three faculties: humanities, science, and health and social science, encompassing 20 diverse schools and departments.
The University of Essex’s commitment to excellence is underscored by its impressive 56th position in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2023, outperforming over 1,400 universities worldwide.
As the deadline for submission looms on November 30, aspiring students are encouraged to explore this opportunity for academic and financial support.
This initiative reflects the University of Essex’s dedication to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic environment while providing tangible support to aspiring Indian scholars.
