The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) has become a catalyst for comprehensive development in the Halqa Panchayats of District Shopian, leaving a trail of impactful initiatives in education, healthcare, and infrastructure. Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 15 from Jharkhand, the yatra has gained momentum, eliciting enthusiastic participation from villagers across various blocks in the district.
At its core, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra prioritizes community engagement, actively involving locals in decision-making processes to empower them as key contributors to development initiatives. Since its launch in District Shopian, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has reached over 75,000 people across 48 gram panchayats, marking a significant milestone in empowering citizens to become active stakeholders in the country’s development. The yatra’s goal is to achieve 100% reach to all citizens, reflecting its commitment to inclusivity.
Officials associated with the programme highlight the active interaction between beneficiaries and representatives from various line departments. In Block Kanjiullar and Ramnagri, efforts were made to provide services of several government schemes and raise awareness about their benefits. Similar programs unfolded in other gram panchayats, offering a comprehensive overview of flagship schemes and programs spanning over nine years.
The yatra features informative pamphlets and booklets about various development and welfare schemes for the year 2024, distributed on-site to ensure citizens are well-informed about the government’s initiatives.
