BuzzBytes Tagore Hall, Srinagar 10 Feb:The curtain rose on the Winter Youth Festival “JASHN – E – SHEEN,” a 3-day celebration of performing arts, inaugurated today at Tagore Hall. Organized by Actors’ Creative Theatre in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and supported by J&K Bank Ltd., the festival aims to showcase the incredible talent of young and upcoming artists from the valley.Today’s performances dazzled the audience with mesmerizing displays of Kashmiri Folk Dance, Gojri Folk Dance, and enchanting Kashmiri traditional music. Newcomers in the music realm presented songs in Kashmiri and Punjabi, adding an extra touch of excitement with Hindi Bollywood tunes. The specially challenged kids also took the stage, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.A standout moment featured the presentation by the sensational twin sisters, “Zaiba & Zainab,” known for their popularity on social media platforms like Instagram and YouTube.Dedicated to the memory of Marhoom Farooq Nazki Sahab, a visionary poet and former Director of Doordarshan and All India Radio, the festival commenced with heartfelt tributes to the departed luminary.Zafar Iqbal Manhas, the former Secretary of J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages and former MLC, graced the event as the chief guest for the Opening Ceremony. Guests of honor included Rauf Ahmad Punjabi, former President of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce; Basheer Aarif, former director of All India Radio; Tariq Javaid, renowned artist; Waheed Jeelani, the heartthrob singer of Kashmir; and Gulzar Bhat, Chairman of All J&K Folk Artists Association.The festival promises to be a vibrant celebration of art, culture, and the rich talent that the valley has to offer.
