Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the ongoing Government Medical College (GMC) Udhampur project on December 23. Accompanied by senior officials, including Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai and Principal GMC Udhampur, the Advisor aimed to assess the progress of this prestigious medical education initiative.
During the inspection, Advisor Bhatnagar meticulously reviewed each component of the project, engaging in thorough deliberations with workmen to address potential hindrances. Emphasizing the importance of timely completion, Bhatnagar directed the executing agency officers to expedite the pace of works. He urged them to monitor progress regularly and deploy additional manpower to ensure the project’s timely completion.
Advisor Bhatnagar highlighted the commitment of the present administration, led by Lieutenant Governor, towards enhancing healthcare facilities in Jammu and Kashmir. Over the past four years, significant improvements have been witnessed in establishing world-class healthcare services in the Union Territory.
GMC Udhampur holds a pivotal role in bolstering healthcare services in the district. Advisor Bhatnagar reiterated the government’s commitment to providing state-of-the-art facilities for medical education and patient care. The officers of the executing agency briefed the Advisor about the present status of ongoing works during the inspection.
