Anti-Corruption Bureau Apprehends Assistant Engineer for Bribery in Budgam District.

Buzzbytes, Srinagar Dec 21:In a decisive action against corruption, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) detained Tanveer Ahmad, serving as an Assistant Engineer at the Block Development Office (BDO) in Surasyar Chadoora, Budgam district. The apprehension followed a complaint lodged against Ahmad, leading to a trap operation orchestrated by the ACB.

During the operation, Ahmad was caught red-handed accepting a bribe, as confirmed by reports from the news agency KDC. Subsequently, a substantial amount of cash was seized from the engineer, further substantiating the allegations against him.

In response to the grave misconduct, an FIR has been registered against Tanveer Ahmad under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The legal proceedings are underway, with an intensive investigation being conducted by the ACB.

The swift and decisive action by the ACB’s team underscores the commitment to root out corruption and uphold transparency and integrity within administrative frameworks. Concurrently, further inquiries related to the case are being pursued at a local police station, ensuring comprehensive scrutiny and accountability in the matter.
