In a series of demonstrations across Jammu & Kashmir, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) vehemently protested against the Congress party, expressing strong condemnation for what they perceived as an affront to Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar. The protests saw the burning of Congress effigies at various locations in the region.

Led by senior BJP leaders, including former State President Sat Sharma and District President Parmod Kapahi, the protests featured hundreds of participants at Kachi Chawni Chowk, Jammu. The demonstration was marked by intense sloganeering and the symbolic burning of the Congress effigy.

Sat Sharma, addressing the crowd, accused Congress of dishonoring Vice President Dhankar, a figure from a farming background, serving the nation in the capacity of Vice President and Rajya Sabha chairperson. He labeled Congress’s actions as an insult to the Indian Constitution and predicted a humiliating fate for the party in the 2024 elections.

Yudhvir Sethi expressed disdain for the INDI alliance leaders, accusing them of disgracing OBCs and farmers, asserting that they must repent for their perceived transgressions.

Parmod Kapahi criticized Congress for disrespecting the top Constitutional post, viewing their actions as a stain on the nation’s honor.

Dr. Pardeep Mahotra characterized Congress as a habitual offender, accusing the party of repeatedly mocking Indian culture, values, and top institutions. He called on Congress, including Rahul Gandhi, to apologize to the nation.

In a separate protest led by District President Rekha Mahajan, BJP District Jammu South burned effigies of Congress at Gangyal and RS Pura. Senior leaders Sham Choudhary and Baldev Billiwaria, among others, participated in the demonstration.

Sham Choudhary asserted that Congress’s actions justified their suspension for the nation’s betterment, while Rekha Mahajan emphasized that the Vice-President’s chair belongs to the entire nation, irrespective of party affiliations. The BJP leaders collectively conveyed a strong message of condemnation for Congress’s perceived disrespect to the Vice President and called for accountability.
