Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of J&K, Kavinder Gupta, has strongly criticized statements made by People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Mehbooba Mufti, as well as Udit Raj and Sanjay Raut of Shiv Sena, regarding the recent martyrdom of soldiers in J&K.

In a media statement today, Gupta denounced the opposition leaders for making irresponsible remarks on sensitive matters, particularly the sacrifice of soldiers for the nation’s integrity and people’s security. He expressed disappointment that figures like Mehbooba Mufti and Sanjay Raut are engaging in politics surrounding the recent soldiers’ martyrdom in Poonch.

Gupta rebuked Mehbooba Mufti’s call for a visit to the terror-infested region, stating that it is inappropriate during ongoing anti-terror operations. He emphasized the need to support the nation’s defense forces by adopting language that strengthens their fight in challenging terrain, rather than taking a stance that could escalate law and order issues.

Responding to statements by Sanjay Raut and Udit Raj comparing the Poonch incident to the Pulwama terror attack in 2019 and questioning the central government’s motives, Gupta criticized these leaders for stooping to the lowest level on such serious issues, particularly those related to soldiers’ martyrdom.

Gupta reminded these leaders that the BJP has consistently governed based on performance and dismissed allegations of resorting to questionable tactics. He asserted that the people of the world’s largest democracy are discerning enough not to be misled by disgruntled politicians like Mehbooba, Raut, or Udit Raj.

Gupta confidently declared that the BJP is poised for a third consecutive term at the Centre, citing the party’s outstanding performance as the basis for garnering voter support.
