Curative Survey Pvt. Ltd. Scam Unveiled: Six Accused Identified Outside J&K, One Arrested in Nationwide Fraud Investigation

Srinagar, Dec 31: In a major development, six individuals accused in an alleged scam linked to Curative Survey Private Limited, operating outside Jammu and Kashmir, have been identified, with one already arrested.

On 19.12.2023, it came to light that a fictitious company, posing as ‘Curative Survey Private Limited,’ perpetrated a scam by luring the unsuspecting public with promises of significant returns on investments through a fraudulent website. After deceiving subscribers and collecting investments, the company became unresponsive, plunging subscribers into chaos, anguish, and protests.

A case under FIR No. 39/2023 was registered at the Cyber Police Station in Kashmir Zone-Srinagar, citing violations under Section 66D of the IT Act and Section 420 of the IPC. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed to probe the case.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the company had established six offices in the Kashmir Valley and one regional office in Jammu between January and February 2023. All seven offices were subsequently searched, sealed, and incriminating evidence was seized, sent to the FSL for analysis.

Numerous employees of the company across Jammu and Kashmir were identified, examined, and their statements recorded. Victims also approached the SIT, leading to the identification of six accused persons residing outside the UT of Jammu and Kashmir. One accused has been apprehended in Tamil Nadu and taken into police remand, while efforts are underway to arrest the remaining individuals.

The financial loss to victims is being assessed through the collection of evidence and witness statements. The company’s accounts have been debit-frozen, and investigations continue. The involvement of local contacts and employees is under scrutiny. Social media influencers promoting the company are also being investigated. Cyber Police Station Kashmir Zone Srinagar has received 27 complaints so far.
