Shakshi Kathua, December 22, 2023 – The Jammu and Kashmir Milk Producers’ Cooperative Limited (JKMPCL) takes a significant step towards enhancing the livelihoods of rural dairy farmers through the “Dairy Darbar” program. N S Bali, Mission Director, Dairy Development, inaugurated the event, emphasizing JKMPCL’s commitment to providing the best rates among state cooperatives, ensuring financial viability for youth and rural farmers.
The program, attended by 400 milk producers, focused on addressing the challenges faced by farmers, particularly the lack of a remunerative market for their produce. Bali assured farmers of the government’s mission-mode approach to monitor and boost dairy development in the UT. Cheques for the Price Difference for 2022-23 were distributed, and plans for establishing dairy plants in both divisions of J&K were announced.
A pledge was taken to strengthen the cooperative model, and efforts to resist the entry of private organizations with malafide intentions were underscored. The event marked a significant stride in fostering a thriving dairy industry and empowering rural communities.
