Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, J&K embraces a red carpet strategy, prioritizing safety and growth of investment, ease of doing business, and fostering a robust government-to-business interface. The Lt Governor invited industry leaders and investors to explore the promising opportunities in the Union Territory.

The new industrial scheme aims at creating a conducive environment for growth in Agriculture, Health & Pharmaceuticals, Manufacturing, Tourism & Hospitality, Education & Skill development, Handicraft & Handloom, and IT & Electronics. Digitalization takes center stage in the government’s priorities, aiming to build an e-society for long-term prosperity.

Research and Development (R&D) emerges as a key focus, with J&K aspiring to become one of the country’s most dynamic R&D locations, strengthening the link between Industry and Academia. During an interactive session, the Lt Governor addressed queries from industry members.

Sh Vikramjit Singh, Commissioner Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department, J&K, presented a detailed overview of the industrial sector’s growth potential. The event saw the presence of Sh Hari Shankar Halwasiya, President, Calcutta Chamber of Commerce, former CCC Presidents Sh Sushil Agrawal and Sh RK Chhajer, along with representatives from various industries.
