DC Kulgam Conducts Block Diwas, Redresses Public Grievances in Yaripora

Kulgam, February 14, 2024: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan, led a mega public grievance redressal camp in Yaripora as part of the weekly Block Diwas initiative. The camp, attended by residents from HomeShalibug, Yaripora, Nunmai, Yamrach, Dasen, Kokergund Munadguffan, and neighboring areas, provided a platform for people to voice their concerns.During the camp, public delegations and individuals highlighted various developmental issues, including the need for graveyard fencing at Home Shalibug, street lights repairs in Yaripora, establishment of a girls’ degree college, a public library in Yaripora, staff augmentation at SDH, ATM installation near the hospital, road repairs in Dasen-Nunmai, and street lights installation in Nunmai.The DC, along with officers present at the camp, addressed the concerns, redressing immediate issues on the spot. Athar Aamir Khan emphasized that such grievance redressal camps aim to gather public input for timely resolution. All raised issues and demands were duly noted for further action based on feasibility and norms.Encouraging community participation in Gram Sabhas, the DC highlighted the importance of prioritizing developmental works for the overall benefit of the public. He instructed officers to identify vacant buildings for the establishment of a public library in Yaripora and urged prompt and time-bound redressal of people’s grievances.Similar grievance redressal camps were also conducted in D.H.Pora and Devsar.
