Ramban, February 14, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, personally inspected the site of a significant landslide on the Kanga-Bathni road via Gandhri, located at kilometer 12. Due to the impassability of the area for vehicles, the Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by a team of senior officers, traveled on foot to assess the extent of the damage.The inspection involved discussions with senior officers, public representatives, including DDC Councillor Shamim Akther, and prominent citizens, to evaluate the situation and devise immediate plans for the restoration of road connectivity.Accompanied by ADC Harbans Sharam, ACR S. Harpal Singh, ACD Shreenath Suman, Executive Engineer Abhishek Gupta, Executive Engineer PMGSY Arvind Kumar, DFO Batote Abinav Romitra, Tehsildar Deep Kumar, and other officials, the Deputy Commissioner conducted a comprehensive assessment of the affected area.During the discussions, the Deputy Commissioner was briefed on the deployment of adequate manpower and machinery, including four excavators and other equipment, in accordance with his directives, to clear the landslides.Following the deliberations, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Executive Engineer of PMGSY to initiate round-the-clock efforts to ensure the road’s traffic-worthiness at the earliest. Emphasizing the critical importance of seamless connectivity between Gandhari block and the district headquarters, he underscored the priority of public convenience and safety.
