District Development Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya led a crucial meeting to assess the implementation of various schemes dedicated to the welfare of farmers in Jammu. The meeting focused on the status of schemes like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), and Credit Linked Schemes.
DDC Vaishya urged concerned officers to submit action taken reports on previous directives, emphasizing better implementation. Attention was particularly given to the number of beneficiaries covered under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, with a directive to expedite the verification and delivery process to eligible farmers.
The review also addressed issues affecting the progress of eKYC and other land-related matters under PM Kisan. DDC Vaishya instructed officers to prioritize issue resolution and ensure no farmer is left out of the scheme. The meeting also scrutinized the coverage under PMFBY, stressing the importance of achieving maximum coverage to protect crops against natural calamities.
Awareness campaigns were recommended to inform farmers about the benefits of schemes like Kisan Credit Card and Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM FME). DDC Vaishya underscored the government’s commitment to supporting the farming community and emphasized the role of officers in facilitating eligible beneficiaries.
