Srinagar Oct 1 (Buzzbytes) – In a resounding display of commitment to the Swachata Abhiyaan initiated by the Government of India, the Fire and Emergency Services department of Jammu and Kashmir wholeheartedly participated in the cleanliness drive across the Union Territory.

The Directorate orchestrated 191 events, each hosted at Fire and Emergency stations and command offices in every district of the UT. These events aimed at fostering cleanliness and included the thorough cleaning of offices, stations, and the surrounding areas. The focal point of this initiative was the grand event held at Gandhi Nagar Headquarters in Jammu. Alok Kumar, IPS, ADGP Director of Fire and Emergency Services, personally joined the Swachata Abhiyaan event, setting a commendable example.
Addressing the gathering, Alok Kumar encouraged the personnel to embrace Swachata Abhiyaan as an integral part of the ‘Clean India’ drive. He actively participated in the cleaning activities alongside the dedicated jawans. RK Raina, DD Jammu, and Dr. Manju, Medical Officer FES Jammu, along with other senior officers, also actively engaged in cleaning their respective offices and Fire Stations. The clean-up drive later extended to the lush green surroundings of the Gandhi Nagar area.
Similar functions were organized at Range and District Headquarters, where commanding officers led the cleanliness initiatives. At Srinagar Headquarters, Aqib Hussain Mir, Assistant Director, spearheaded the Swachata Abhiyaan drive.
With unwavering enthusiasm, each Fire and Emergency station and its surroundings undertook cleanliness activities, aligning with the directives of higher authorities.
Alok Kumar, IPS, ADGP Director of Fire and Emergency Services, has issued a directive to all subordinate units, emphasizing the continuation of the Swachata Abhiyaan as a routine practice.
