District Child Protection Unit in Poonch Rescues 17 Juvenile Children from Mendhar, Takes Swift Legal Action Against Child Labor

In a decisive move to combat child labor and uphold juvenile rights, the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) in Poonch, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Sh. Yaseen Chowdhary and District Child Protection Officer Sh. Moninder Pal, successfully rescued 17 underage children in Mendhar.

A collaborative effort involving members from DCPU, Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Juvenile Police, Child Helpline, and the Labour Department conducted thorough inspections in Mendhar town. The team, led by POIC Sh. Jahangir and social worker Smt. Iram Farooq, meticulously examined hotels, shops, business units, and private offices.

Identifying minors engaged in labor activities, the team swiftly implemented legal actions, underscoring the unwavering commitment to enforcing child rights and protection. The mission “Vatsalya” took center stage, with a prime focus on providing protection, care, and rehabilitation to juvenile rights.

As part of their dedication to the cause, the team worked diligently to raise awareness about child rights and protection. Emphasizing a collective responsibility in ensuring a secure environment for minors, the administration reaffirms its commitment to upholding the principles of Mission Vatsalya.
