District Magistrate Urges Responsible Social Media Use in Shopian

In a bid to counteract the misuse of social media platforms, District Magistrate Fazlul Haseeb issued an order urging netizens in Shopian to refrain from sharing or propagating any content that glorifies terrorism, intimidates the public, or incites violence. The order comes in response to concerns about anti-national groups exploiting online spaces to spread incendiary messages and promote separatist ideologies. Effective immediately, the order, implemented under section 144 Cr.P.C 1973, restricts the posting, uploading, or sharing of such content within the Shopian district. Authorities aim to maintain state security, uphold law and order, and prevent any disturbances to public tranquility.
