Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah Address Gujjar and Bakarwal Conference

Srinagar, 17 January: The President of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, and Vice President Omar Abdullah, addressing a day-long Gujjar and Bakarwal Conference in Jammu, emphasized the socio, political, and economic emancipation of the Gujjar and Bakarwal community. The conference, organized by senior party leader Choudhary Muhammad Aslam, aimed to discuss issues facing the community and explore ways to ensure their rights and well-being.Dr. Farooq Abdullah stressed the importance of unity, learning from past mistakes, and moving forward together to overcome challenges. He highlighted the need for every section of society, especially the Gujjar and Bakarwal community, to join forces with the National Conference to protect Jammu and Kashmir’s unique identity.Omar Abdullah reiterated the peaceful and democratic nature of NC’s battle on various fronts and called for unity to safeguard the interests of the people. He emphasized that the fight is for the existence, democratic rights, identity, and dignity of every individual in J&K.Both leaders encouraged caution in selecting representatives and underscored the impact of each vote on the future of individuals and generations. They congratulated the organizers for holding the conference and expressed a commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the Gujjar and Bakarwal community across J&K. Party functionaries highlighted the issues faced by the community since 2014 and called for increased attention to their emancipation.
