Gulmarg 22 Jan 2024:In anticipation of the 4th edition of Khelo India National Winter Games at Gulmarg, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Minga Sherpa of Baramulla chaired a comprehensive meeting at Golf Club Gulmarg with various officials to assess the arrangements for the upcoming games.The DC conducted a thorough review, issuing directives to concerned departments to ensure a cohesive approach for the event’s success. Emphasizing on comprehensive planning, he highlighted the importance of timely arrangements, including health provisions, accommodation, sanitation, traffic regulation, and lodging.Sherpa emphasized the pivotal role of the National Games in promoting tourism, foreseeing increased tourist influx that could boost the district’s economy.The meeting saw the presence of key officials, including CEO of Gulmarg Development Authority Waseem Raja, Sub Divisional Magistrate Syed Altaf, Assistant Regional Transport Officer Muazzam Ali, and representatives from various departments.Later, the DC met with Gulmarg hoteliers, urging them to provide accommodations for athletes, spectators, and guests during the sporting events. Addressing presented issues and grievances, Sherpa assured prompt resolution.
