Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum Advocates for Educational Employee Welfare in Meetings with DSEK and Additional Secretary (SED)

Buzzbytes, feb17:In a proactive endeavor to advocate for the welfare of education department employees, a high-level delegation from the Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum conducted consecutive meetings with key administrative figures. Led by President Mohammad Shafi Rather, the delegation raised pertinent issues affecting the educational workforce during discussions with Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) and Additional Secretary (SED).During the first meeting with DSEK Dr. Tasaduk Hussain Mir (KAS), the delegation highlighted concerns regarding the recent promotions of masters and emphasized the importance of their suitable and convenient postings. DSEK assured the delegation of prompt resolutions to all raised issues, demonstrating a commitment to address the employees’ grievances.Later in the day, the delegation convened with Additional Secretary Ghulam Nabi Bhat (KAS) at the civil secretariat in Srinagar. Through a memorandum, the delegation outlined various challenges faced by education department employees and urged for timely interventions. Key points of discussion included the timely provision of textbooks for government school students, construction of residential quarters for Zone V employees, and the formulation of comprehensive transfer policies.Moreover, the delegation advocated for parity in salaries, allowances, and benefits for teachers in Jammu Kashmir compared to their counterparts in other Union Territories. They also stressed the inclusion of service rendered by Migrant Substitute Teachers in their records and called for the scrapping of the National Pension Scheme in favor of reverting to the old defined pension scheme.Additional Secretary Ghulam Nabi Bhat attentively listened to the delegation’s concerns and assured them of due consideration and action.
