In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha Election 2024, the District Election Officer of Baramulla has issued a comprehensive schedule for Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) training sessions. The training, spanning from December 22nd to January 9th, 2024, targets all government employees across various departments in District Baramulla.
The detailed schedule has been distributed among relevant departments, with department heads tasked to ensure the attendance of their employees. The training aims to familiarize participants with the operation of EVMs and VVPATs, crucial for the smooth conduct of the democratic process. Attendance records will be meticulously maintained, with designated officers/officials responsible for recording attendance at each venue.
Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) have been directed to compile attendance and communicate the same to the higher authorities. The disposal of all VVPAT slips generated during the training will follow Election Commission guidelines. Additionally, Tehsildars/AEROs will oversee the safe transportation and custody of EVMs during the training sessions.
This initiative underscores the commitment to conducting free, fair, and efficient elections, ensuring that all government employees involved are well-equipped to handle the voting machinery.
