Drug Peddler Arrested in Baramulla with 1.5 Kgs of Contraband

,January 23, Baramulla: In a significant move towards combating the proliferation of drugs, the Baramulla Police successfully apprehended a notorious drug peddler, Syed Asif Hussain, at a checkpoint in Kralhar Baramulla.The arrest was carried out by a vigilant police party from Police Station Baramulla, led by the Station House Officer (SHO) PS Baramulla. During a routine inspection, Asif Hussain, son of Syed Sabir Hussain and a resident of Kamalkote Uri, was intercepted, leading to a thorough search.The search yielded a substantial discovery, as 1.5 kilograms of contraband Poppy Straw-like substances were found in Asif Hussain’s possession. Subsequently, he was taken into custody and shifted to PS Baramulla.A case has been registered against Asif Hussain under the relevant sections of the law at Police Station Baramulla, and investigations have been initiated to delve into the details of the illegal drug activities.The community is urged to remain vigilant and report any instances of drug peddling or other criminal activities to the nearest police establishment or by dialing 112.
