Boniyar:Under the leadership of Dr. Jehangir Bakshi, Project Director of the J&K AIDS Control Society In collaboration with District Health Society, Baramulla and Poshan Projects, Baramulla and under the supervision of CMO Baramulla Dr. A.G. Raina, a vibrant HIV/AIDS awareness programme was held on October 18, 2025, at Government Higher Secondary School, Boniyar. The event was organized by the District Health Society Baramulla in collaboration with BMO Boniyar and the POSHAN Project (ICDS Department Baramulla) as part of the Intensified IEC Campaign.
The rally was inaugurated by Dr. Roqaya Showkat (BMO Boniyar), while Ms. Sabiha Iqbal (Assistant Director, J&K AIDS Control Society) briefed the participants about the objectives of the campaign. Mr. Reyaz Rashid Qureshi (DAC Baramulla) also shared vital information on HIV/AIDS awareness with ASHAs and Anganwadi Workers (AWWs).
Prior to the rally, ASHAs and AWWs received orientation on the fundamentals of HIV/AIDS. Both Dr. Roqaya Showkat and Ms. Sabiha Iqbal addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of personal and community health safety, and expressed gratitude to the Health Department, POSHAN Project (ICDS Department Baramulla), and School Authorities for their support.
The rally commenced from Government Higher Secondary School Boniyar and concluded at Main Market Boniyar, witnessing enthusiastic participation from ASHAs, AWWs, and health staff who raised slogans to spread awareness and promote HIV/AIDS prevention.
