LG Approves New Industrial Estates in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar,Nov 25 (Buzzbytes): In a significant move aimed at fostering economic development and employment opportunities, the Administrative Council (AC) chaired by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has greenlit the establishment of four new Industrial Estates across three districts in Jammu and Kashmir.

The approved projects include the Industrial Estate in Budhi Kathua, Medicity Jammu, Chandgam, and Lelhar Pulwama, covering a sprawling land area of 1379 Kanals and involving an investment of Rs 136.65 Crores. These initiatives not only seek to attract investments but also aspire to generate approximately 11,497 jobs in the private sector, thereby providing a significant impetus to local employment.

Each industrial estate will undergo comprehensive development, encompassing crucial infrastructure components such as internal road works, ensured electricity availability, a centralized water distribution system, rainwater harvesting, and roadside greenery/plantation, among other essential facilities.

Furthermore, the development plan incorporates the establishment of state-of-the-art facilities including Centralized Effluent Treatment plants designed according to the standards set by the National Green Tribunal, utilizing modern technology. The stipulated timeframe for completing these projects is 18 months.

This move underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to fostering industrial growth and entrepreneurship in Jammu and Kashmir. The initiative aligns with the broader strategy to create a conducive environment for business expansion and economic progress within the region.
