8th and 10th Muharram procession taken out in Srinagar are a testimony to change and normalcy in the Union Territory with booming peace and prosperity History has been written in major terms by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, by taking part in the historic Muharram 10 procession. Nobody would have ever thought this would happen but the end of dynasty parties via abrogation of article 370 has made it sure. Muharram Procession could never be held under NC or PDP Rule The National Conference and Congress along with People’s Democratic Party which had a battery of eminent Shia leaders could never ensure Muharram procession and mourners used to be badly injured. It used to create ugly law and order problem. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha led administration has carved a golden epoch this Muharram which would in longer run create peaceful and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.On Ashura eve, Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday visited the Bota Kadal area of Srinagar’s downtown to participate in the main Zuljinah procession that is taken out on 10th Muharram—Ashura. He also distributed refreshments among the Shia mourners. LG took part in Zuljinah procession It was heartening to note that LG Sinha reached Bota Kadal area of Srinagar and took part in the Zuljinah procession. “He offered chaddar to Zuljinah and paid rich tributes to Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) on the occasion. He also distributed refreshments among the mourners and extended full support to them,” they said.LG reached Bota Kadal area of Srinagar amid warm welcome. He was accompanied by ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bhiduri, SSP Srinagar Rakesh Balwal, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Muhammad Aijaz Asad and other officials. The procession took place in a very peaceful atmosphere. Shias are expressing gratitude to LG for his historic decision Shia mourners across Jammu and Kashmir are expressing gratitude to the administration for ensuring quality arrangements and thanked LG for reaching out to them. Throughout the valley they are saying that the LG Manoj Sinha led administration has laid a firm foundation of peace, prosperity, humanity and brotherhood.For the first time ever the 8th Muharram procession too was held in Kashmir after a long gap of 34 years. On this day, a police spokesperson said that Shia brethren here are quoting it as a historic day in J&K history which depicts a situation at par with the days when normalcy was prevailing in the state. “Keeping in view the sensitivity of the day, when the shadow of terrorism and petty politics of separatism made it impossible to hold such events , the procession was not taken out for the last 33 years in the aftermath of violence and arson during the event, ” the spokesperson observed. The LG Manoj Sinha leading the 10th Muharram procession was iconic in many ways. Wearing a black outfit, L-G Sinha visited the most volatile part of the city in Srinagar’s Bota Kadal area and offered ‘chaddar’ to ‘Zuljanah’, a procession carried out to recall the martyrdom of the grandson of Prophet Muhammad ( PBUH) Imam Hussain, during the Battle of Karbala. It is also through constant efforts of the central and UT Government that street violence had ended in Kashmir and people were breathing freely today in every area of Jammu and Kashmir.During the four decades of dynasty ridden politics of Kashmir the bloodshed, destruction, mayhem and at one point of time, shutdown calls were a regular feature, but people were the ultimate sufferers. The Muharram processions were not allowed and the reason was separatism and dynasty elements of so called mainstream politicians. They used to invoke an atmosphere of strife and tension but now they are symbols of peace, harmony and amity . A strong bond has been created between people and the Government. We should salute the iconic leadership of LG Manoj Sinha The success of the Muharram procession in Jammu and Kashmir along with returning of peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir is bound to give sleepless nights to PDP, NC, Congress who always played anti national and politics of mayhem. They had in association with terror and violent forces destroyed the peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir which has been brought back by relentless efforts and decisions of the central Government.On this historic juncture , we should salute the iconic leadership of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for ushering in an era of peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir. He has been a man of moment and going out of the way to ensure that Muharram processions are taken out in Kashmir once again and Shia mourners get each and every facility has been a leadership event that is rare but deserves all the kudos and applause.
