Mission Vatsalya Empowers Stakeholders in Bandipora through Capacity Building Programme

Mir Gowher Bandipora, February 14, 2024:* The District Protection Unit, Mission Vatsalya, Bandipora, conducted a comprehensive Training cum Capacity Building programme at HSS Kaloosa, focusing on the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015, POCSO Act 2012, Adoption Regulations, and child rights.The esteemed Chairman of the District Development Council, Ab. Gani Bhat, presided over the program, which saw the active participation of various dignitaries, including Vice Chairperson DDC Kousar Shafeeq, DDC Arin Gh. Mohi Ud Din, and DDC Hajin Gh. Mustafa, among others.The event, led by District Child Protection Officer Mir Hidaytullah and facilitated by Chairperson Child Welfare Committee Aasima Hassan, aimed to enhance the understanding and implementation of key child protection legislations. Various speakers emphasized the pivotal role of stakeholders in ensuring the effective execution of these Acts, encouraging active involvement and participation.Rasik Ramzan delivered an insightful introductory speech, explaining the structure of Mission Vatsalya and the significance of the program at the district level. The agenda included discussions on rescue and rehabilitation operations for vulnerable child laborers, age determination processes, and other crucial aspects.The interactive program utilized case studies, group work, and role-playing to engage and enrich the participants. Sofi Gowhar Mehmood, Protection Officer NIC, highlighted the working of DPU- Mission Vatsalya and the collaborative role of various line Departments.Chief Functionary of HWVO (NGO) Feroz Ahmad served as a resource person, shedding light on Family Based Alternative Care. The session concluded with the distribution of certificates of participation, acknowledging the active involvement of the participants in the program and reinforcing their commitment to child welfare and protection.
