In an effort to promote sustainable livelihoods, five vehicles, including four small commercial vehicles and one passenger vehicle, were distributed among unemployed youth in Ramban. This distribution took place under the Mumkin scheme of the Mission Youth program at the District Administrative Complex Ramban.

The Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Giasul Haq, inaugurated the distribution ceremony, which was attended by officials including AD Employment, Dr. Sushant Mahajan, LDM Ramban, Career Counselling Officer Aamir Hassan, and others from DECC Ramban. The symbolic handing over of keys marked a significant moment for the beneficiaries.

The Mumkin scheme, a flagship initiative of the Mission Youth program, is designed to provide sustainable livelihoods to unemployed youth in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. As part of this scheme, small commercial vehicles are made available to youth with a 20 percent subsidy on the on-road price, jointly provided by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and Vehicle Manufacturers.

Dr. Sushant Mahajan, AD Employment, highlighted the success of the Mumkin Scheme in the district, with 831 cases approved and 159 small commercial vehicles already distributed to beneficiaries on different occasions.

This initiative reflects a step forward in empowering the local youth of Ramban, offering them opportunities for sustainable livelihoods through the Mumkin Scheme.
