Shopian, 11th December- The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) has brought boundless joy to the faces of previously homeless beneficiaries in Panchayat Heerpora, a remote area in Block Shopian. The beneficiaries, now proud owners of pucca houses, express their heartfelt gratitude to PM Shri Narendra Modi, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, and Deputy Commissioner Shopian for the transformative impact of the scheme.
Before the implementation of PMAY, numerous underprivileged families in Panchayat Halqa Heerpora endured living in makeshift homes, facing various challenges associated with kachaa houses and tin sheds. However, the visionary Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has turned their dreams of secure housing into a reality.
In the current year, a commendable 45 houses were allocated to beneficiaries, complementing the 18 cases allocated in the previous financial year to Panchayat Halqa Heerpora. The beneficiaries commend the tireless efforts of the government officials and authorities involved in making PMAY accessible to the impoverished, enabling the construction of durable homes.
The residents extend their sincere appreciation to PM Shri Narendra Modi for the initiative, recognizing the significant role played by Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha and Deputy Commissioner Shopian. The success of PMAY in Heerpora stands as a testament to the government’s commitment to uplifting the lives of the marginalized, providing not just shelter but hope for a brighter future.
