Shabnam Fayaz Pulwama, 12th December 2023- The cricketing fervor reached its pinnacle as the highly anticipated Pulwama Champions Trophy 2023, organized by 55 Rashtriya Rifles under the aegis of 12 Sector CIF(VF), concluded with a thrilling final match at Sports Stadium Pulwama.
A total of 16 teams, representing Pulwama and Shopian districts, showcased their cricketing prowess in a series of intense league matches held at Chandgam Playground. RCB Badriwan and Elite Cricket Club Heff emerged as the front-runners, securing their places in the finals after triumphant semi-final clashes.
In a gripping final showdown, RCB Badriwan, having won the toss, set a challenging target of 135 runs for Elite Cricket Club Heff. However, the spirited Heff team rose to the occasion, successfully chasing down the target and securing victory in the Pulwama Champions Trophy 2023. The Man of the Match title was rightfully bestowed upon Zahid Riyaz of Team Heff, while the prestigious Man of the Series award went to Akib Malik of RCB Badriwan.
The event was graced by the presence of the esteemed Commanding Officer of 55 Rashtriya Rifles, Col Deven Sood, who felicitated the winners in a ceremony that reflected the true spirit of sportsmanship. Following the awards ceremony, an interactive session took place, accompanied by tea and snacks, fostering camaraderie among the participating teams and the local community.
