Rashtriya Gokul Mission Beneficiaries from Kashmir Shine in Republic Day Parade

Srinagar, January 23, 2024In a historic moment, 17 beneficiaries of the Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM) and Multipurpose Artificial Insemination Technicians in Rural India (MAITRIs) were ceremoniously flagged off today to participate in the upcoming Republic Day Celebrations in New Delhi.The group, led by CEO Livestock Development Board, Kashmir Shri Altaf Ahmad Laway, received a warm send-off from various dignitaries. Shri Laway expressed immense pride, highlighting that this is the first time the Central Government has extended a special invitation to RGM beneficiaries and MAITRIs for the Republic Day Parade, aiming to boost their morale.Underlining their valuable contribution to the livestock sector in Kashmir, Shri Laway emphasized that their participation in the parade is a well-deserved accolade. The platform will serve to showcase the pivotal role of Rashtriya Gokul Mission in fostering sustainable livestock development and enhancing the well-being of rural communities across the region.The Rashtriya Gokul Mission focuses on training and deploying unemployed individuals in the Animal Husbandry sector, transforming them into skilled MAITRIs. These professionals play a crucial role in artificial insemination in rural India. As part of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme – Rashtriya Gokul Mission, they receive incentives, with Rs. 100 for the first artificial insemination, Rs. 200 for the second, and Rs. 100 for each subsequent birth.This participation in the Republic Day Parade not only acknowledges their hard work but also brings to the forefront the significant strides made in the livestock sector, paving the way for a brighter future in rural development.
