February 20, 2024 Srinagar, BuzzBytes:IGNOU’s 37th Convocation took place virtually on February 20, 2024, with Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, Vice President of India, as the Chief Guest. Simultaneous ceremonies occurred at selected Regional Centres, including IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar, where Vice Chancellor Central University of Kashmir, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, was the Guest of Honour.The convocation, broadcast live on various platforms, celebrated the academic achievements of 9616 learners across 126 programs. Dr. Shahnawaz Ahmad Dar, Regional Director of IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar, highlighted the center’s growth, reaching an enrollment of 46,420 for the admission cycles of June and July 2023.Recognition for IGNOU’s contribution to projects like e-VidyaBharti and initiation of SATHEE Mitras and SATHEE Kendra services was acknowledged. Dignitaries, including Registrar University of Kashmir, Prof. Naseer Iqbal, commended IGNOU’s role in extending educational services to disadvantaged groups.Former Regional Directors of IGNOU RC Srinagar, coordinators, and program incharges of study centers were felicitated during the Convocation, attended by various dignitaries from the University of Kashmir, colleges in the valley, and officers of the J&K Administration. The event showcased IGNOU’s commitment to embracing virtual platforms for academic celebrations.
