Anantnag, October 03: A meeting to assess Change in Land Use (CLU) cases was convened today, presided over by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Anantnag, Dr. Mohammad Ashraf, at the DC Office in Anantnag.
The meeting brought together representatives from various government departments responsible for authorizing changes in land use.
At the outset, the Assistant Commissioner of Revenue for Anantnag informed the attendees that 16 applications had been received under the Change in Land Use Policy. Of these, 8 applicants had been granted permissions, while the remaining applications were reverted due to some documental deficiencies.
During the meeting, in-depth discussions took place on various aspects of the policy, including timelines and criteria for evaluating applications by the concerned departments for the issuance of NOCs (No Objection Certificates).
The ADC stressed the need for enhanced inter-departmental coordination, given that CLU cases involve inputs from various departments. He emphasized the importance of making swift decisions on each received case, avoiding unnecessary delays. The CLU policy, he noted, is a significant development that will benefit the public as well as contribute to government revenue.
Regarding illegal constructions, he emphasized that they disrupt planned development, leading to issues such as traffic congestion and pollution. Such constructions also inconvenience the public and result in a loss of government revenue. He urged a strict approach to dealing with illegal constructions, including sensitizing the public to report any such activities. Field functionaries were urged to remain vigilant and take immediate action against illegal constructions.
The meeting was attended by officials from various departments, including Jal Shakti, PWD, Revenue, SDMs, PMGSY, Wildlife, Pollution Control Board, Tehsildars, BDOs, Tourism, and Town Planning.
