Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, anticipates that the forthcoming Supreme Court verdict on Article 370 will usher in a brighter future for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. In a statement issued today in Jammu, Gupta expressed confidence that the decision would be in the best interest of the region’s welfare.
Gupta underscored the prolonged suffering endured by the people of Jammu and Kashmir due to the provisions of Article 370, emphasizing its discriminatory nature. He pointed out that communities such as Gorkhas, Safaikaramcharis, and refugees were unjustly deprived of fundamental rights for over seven decades, hindering the region’s overall development.
Regardless of the specific decision, Gupta believes that the Supreme Court will prioritize the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the positive outcomes observed since the abrogation of Article 370, citing progress in education, healthcare, and infrastructure development.
Expressing optimism about the verdict, Gupta expects it to endorse the government’s decision to abrogate Article 370, thereby paving the way for further development and progress in the region. He concluded by expressing confidence that the Supreme Court would acknowledge the positive impact of removing Article 370, ensuring that the people of Jammu and Kashmir enjoy the same rights and opportunities as their fellow citizens across the country.
