As per the issued order, a copy of which is in possession of the news agency, SKIMS faculty members will enjoy their winter break in two distinct phases. The first half of the vacation is scheduled from January 01 to 28, followed by the second half from February 01 to 28.

The order outlines the administrative procedure, requesting department heads to submit the names of faculty members intending to avail themselves of either the first or second half of the vacation. Notably, each department is instructed to ensure that 50% of its faculty staff remains available during both halves, with a senior faculty member present whenever possible.

Furthermore, the order emphasizes that any changes to the submitted roster will not be entertained once received from the Heads of Departments. The administration retains the right to recall any faculty member during the vacation period, particularly in cases of emergencies.

The order underscores the necessity of recording residential addresses and contact numbers in the vacation roster. Additionally, it specifies that the roster must clearly indicate whether station leaving permission is required or not.

A strict directive is issued, stating that faculty members on duty are not permitted to take leave for attending conferences, seminars, or workshops that involve station permission.

“It is reiterated that the vacation roster of faculty members proceeding on vacation shall not be entertained unless their residential addresses/contact numbers are recorded therein,” the order reads.

SKIMS remains committed to ensuring a smooth and organized winter vacation for its faculty members, fostering a balance between academic responsibilities and well-deserved breaks.
